The National Academy of Medicine has named the class of health professionals who will be NAM Fellows for 2020. These fellows were chosen based on their professional achievements and professional accomplishments and will work on National Academies initiatives with other researchers, policy experts, and clinicians across the United States during their two-year fellowships. They will be immersed in how the National Academies provide nonpartisan, scientific, and evidence-based advice to the government, academia, the health care system, and the public.

The new class of NAM Fellows is:

Rita Hamad, MD, PhD, associate professor in residence; director, Social Policies for Health Equity Research (SPHERE) program, department of family and community medicine, Philip R. Lee Institute for Health Policy Studies, School of Medicine, University of California, San Francisco

Julieanne P. Sees, DO, FAAOS, FAOAO, FAOA, orthopedic surgeon, division of orthopedics, department of orthopedics, Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children, Wilmington, Del.

Adam Bress, PharmD, MS, associate professor of population health sciences, division of health system innovation and research, University of Utah School of Medicine, Salt Lake City

 

Each fellow will continue in their academic post while engaging part-time over two years with National Academies activities relevant to their background and academic expertise.
