The National Academy of Medicine (NAM) will serve as an independent content collaborator on The Longevity Project, which focuses on driving discussion around the 100-year life and identifying “key policy, product and organizational opportunities of the new era of longevity.”

Launching in November 2019, The Longevity Project was founded by Palisades Media Ventures, in concert with lead content collaborator the Stanford Center on Longevity and partners Morning Consult, Urban Institute, Instructure, Principal Financial Group, and Wells Fargo – Wealth and Investment Management, to help people around the world live healthier, more secure, and fulfilled lives. This will be accomplished by engaging leaders in business, media, and policy making to shift the conversation around healthy longevity and the widespread implications and opportunities of long life. The initiative aims to enhance public understanding of the opportunities presented by aging for businesses, communities, and societies through events, collaborations, key partnerships, a series of polls, and ongoing storytelling.

The NAM recently launched the Healthy Longevity Global Grand Challenge, a program that aims to drive research, innovation, and international policy change to capitalize on opportunities inherent in the aging global population. The Grand Challenge has two components: the Healthy Longevity Global Competition, a multiyear, multimillion-dollar international competition seeking breakthrough innovations to extend human health and function later in life; and the Global Roadmap for Healthy Longevity, a multidisciplinary initiative that will develop a comprehensive report assessing the challenges presented by population aging and recommending near-term actions for global societies.

As an independent content collaborator, the NAM will share information, ideas, and opportunities emerging from the Healthy Longevity Global Grand Challenge with The Longevity Project and its partners. The NAM does not necessarily endorse the views of The Longevity Project or those of its partners, nor does it fund or receive funding from The Longevity Project or its partners.
