The Qatar Foundation for Education, Science, and Community Development (QF) launched an annual summit called the World Innovation Summit for Health (WISH) in 2013. The Summit is aimed to foster and kindle innovation in health policy, health systems, and health care delivery. Through a regular summit and a range of ongoing initiatives, WISH intends to create a global community of leading innovators in health care policy, research, and industry.
The NAM will act as a scientific advisor to QF to produce a high-quality report that will frame the policy issues around precision medicine and is suitable for a global audience of senior policymakers. This report will be released at WISH 2016, which will take place in Doha, Qatar on November 29-30, 2016.
NAM President Dr. Victor J. Dzau is chair of the precision medicine forum and will work with other forum members to deliver a report that has clear and actionable recommendations for policymakers, offers case studies of innovative approaches, and provides a framework for policymakers.
WISH Forum topics for 2016 will include accountable care, autism, behavioral insights, cardiovascular disease, economic benefits of investing in health, healthy populations, and precision medicine.
