As part of the 2022 Annual Meeting, the NAM hosted a scientific symposium titled, “Revolutionizing the Biomedical and Health Sciences” on October 17, 2022. The event was held both virtually and in person at the National Academy of Sciences Building in Washington, DC.

In addition, NAM Members hosted Interest Group sessions on the first day of the meeting Sunday, October 16. Interest groups bring together NAM members from a variety of disciplines to engage and convene on the most current topics affecting science, medicine, technology, and health. More information about the Interest Group Meetings can be found below.

Recordings of the scientific symposium will be released for free in the weeks after the event has concluded.

In addition to the scientific program, the 2022 NAM Annual Meeting welcomed the 2019, 2020, and 2021 classes of NAM members, as well as the 2022 class of Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Health Policy FellowsNAM FellowsNAM Scholars in Diagnostic Excellence, Distinguished Nurse Scholar-in-ResidenceEmerging Leaders in Health and Medicine Scholars, and the 2022 International Health Policy Fellow and NAM-HKU Fellow in Global Health Leadership. The Annual Meeting also featured the presentation of the Gustav O. Lienhard Award for Advancement of Health Care, the Rhoda and Bernard Sarnat International Prize in Mental Health, the inaugural David and Beatrix Hamburg Award for Advances in Biomedical Research and Clinical Medicine, the NAM Member Awards, and the NAM Cecil Awards.
