Formerly the Electronic Health Records Innovation Collaborative (EHRIC), the Digital Learning Collaborative (DLC) is an ad hoc convening activity under the auspices of the NAM Leadership Consortium for Value & Science-Driven Health Care. It was created to provide a venue for joint activities that can accelerate progress towards the digital infrastructure necessary for continuous improvement and innovation in health and health care. This includes fostering a new culture of collaborative action among participants in the learning process–e.g. patients, clinicians, researchers, and product developers.

The purpose of this meeting is to explore the untapped asset of the data dividend, derived from the practice of care and interoperability efforts, as a foundation of evidence generation.

Meeting Objectives:

  1. Discuss priority issues that must be addressed to enable the use of the data dividend for analysis, continuous improvement, and decision-making.
  2. Explore how health executives, charged with decision-making at the systems-level, can impact the use of the data dividend in health care transformation.
  3. Identify how the byproducts of big data can be used to improve policy, accelerate research, and increase the value of health care.
