Developing a Nationwide Coordinated System of Shared Health Data with Insight from COVID-19

Webinar Date and Time:  April 22, 2021 | 9:30 am – 12:30 pm ET

Where: Via webinar

In this webinar, the National Academy of Medicine (NAM) explored the role that a nationwide health data governance framework can have in accelerating evidence generation and mobilization for a continuously learning health system.

The conversation addressed four key components to building a successful framework:

  1. Determining the conditions needed to share and aggregate health data in the public health domain to support a learning health system,
  2. understanding and addressing the levels of barriers impeding the efforts of various stakeholders to develop seamless data sharing for research to ultimately improve health outcomes,
  3. discerning best practices for research data sharing, and
  4. evaluating success for mobilizing data and evidence generation for research.
