Topic: Pandemic Response, Overnight Transformation, Financial Apocalypse and Demands for Racial Health Equity: Crisis or Opportunity on the Road to High Performing Primary Care?

The road to high performing Primary Health Care (PHC) in the United States was already long, winding, and bumpy. However, the advent of a novel coronavirus in 2020 presented potentially disastrous financial roadblocks & demand to transform delivery and team roles almost overnight.  And in the middle of it all, swift and powerful reactions to the death of George Floyd in the called attention not only to racial inequality and longstanding deficiencies in health equity, but the need for accessible and efficient primary care at the height of its crisis.  Our panelists will lead the Primary Care Interest Group in a discussion of what lies ahead on the road to sustainable and high performing primary care, in light of these critical contextual factors, and share their ideas on where a year of crisis may also beget opportunity.
