Topic: Medical Education and the Twin Pandemics: COVID 19 and Structural Racism

The effects of the pandemic of COVID-19 pandemic on the education of health professionals have been profound.  Equally, the Black Lives Matter movement has reminded us of the deep and lasting effect the legacy of structural racism has had on American medicine and medical education.  This symposium will address the impact and potential responses to these pandemics, identify important stressors and early lessons learned and focus on paths forward, and identify where strategies to mitigate one pandemic may confound the other.
