Evidence-Based Medicine was the focus of the 37th annual meeting of the Institute of Medicine. The meeting, entitled Evidence-Based Medicine and the Changing Nature of Healthcare, featured engaging sessions by distinguished speakers on the forces driving the need for better medical evidence, how patients and providers will contend with the changes, ways the speed and reliability of new evidence can be transformed, and the policy shifts needed to improve value. The meeting was held on October 8, 2007 at the National Academy of Sciences, 2100 C Street NW, Washington, DC.
